hey mom
well its martin luther king day, and evidently in the south that is a big thing... because everything is sht down!
Right now we are using the computer of the senior couple here in ft walton, so this email wont be very long.
I just bairly watched the video... thank you, it was so awesome!! It was great to here everyones voice and see the view from the pourch, and all the missionaries loved seeing snow! livi really is growing like a weed, i was watching the video and i was like "who is that dancing with nana and grandma... WHAT thats livi!"
this week was good. I am working really hard, i am trying so hard to get along with the comp, (practice for marriage!) and yet all the way trying to share the knowledge i know with these people.
Experience for the week, well, yesterday we went out to visit this guy who we met in walmart. He lived quite a ways from town, so we were hoping he was there. We show up to his house and there are a bunch of cars in the parking lot, evidently they were having a family get together. But we knocked at the door, the wife said he wasnt there, so we proceeded to walk away. After a few steps down the street, we hear someone calling after us. It was him, leonardo. And the second i saw him it was very evident that he was drunk. Basically, as i walked up to him i noticed he had tears in his eyes, we asked the problem, and basically he spilled his guts... about alcoholism, about the pain, the hopelessness in his life. It was horrible, it hurt to listen to, his life is shattered all because of this addiction that he cant kick. He pleaded for help, and we will do our best to show him the power of the atonement. I learned a lot last night though, and i think that i have a lot yet left to learn about wat the atonement can do for him. Pray for him please...
But on a lighter note, spanish is coming.... very slowly. I still am understanding a lot. learning more. We also taught a lesson yesterday, we taught half in english and half in spanish, and i COULDNT do it in english. It is just easier for me to share it in spanish now!
Also, for the record, i ate tongue for the first time this week (i got some sweet pictures of it!) and also i was given my first soccer jersey (playara)!!
THanks so much for everything mom, today will be a crazy p-day, so please forgive me for the lack of attention coming your way. I will do some good emails next week.
i love you so much, thanks for everything... thanks for getting me to tear up while reading your letter, believe it or not i avent had the chance to tear up for a while!
